"They came to tell you about Jesus!"

Why are we working in India?

While in bible college, David had an experience on a mission trip to India that touched his heart and radically affected the course of his life. While there, he and another bible college student traveled with a local Indian pastor to a remote village in Tamil Nadu. As they entered the village on a dirt road they saw cows walking around and thatched huts everywhere. When the car stopped and they got out, immediately, a crowd surrounded them. (Most of these people had not seen a white person before.) Some women in the crowd asked the Pastor, “What are these white people doing here?” He replied, “They came to tell you about Jesus!” Then they asked, “Who is that and why would they come so far just to tell us about Him?” David then preached the Gospel to the crowd right there in the street. After listening attentively, many of the people responded, turned to the Lord and were eager to hear more.

It became clear to the Forgostons that their ministry would begin in India following the words of the apostle Paul: “I have made it my aim to preach the gospel where the name of Christ has never yet been heard.” (Romans 15:20)
